Tuesday, 21 November [1944] Ramsbury
More guns. More equipment. The outfit is alerted and it’s really a job getting ready. The mechanics are busy on their trucks and jeeps. The Chiefs of Selections and Artillery Mechanics are busy on the guns. Every one has a job and everyone is doing it. Btry “B” moves rapidly, when the occasion demands it.

Wednesday, 22 November [1944] Ramsbury
Same thing as yesterday. Every one is working. Everything seems to be in confusion but as if by magic, all the loose ends will be rounded up and the job completed right on, or before time.
No other Battery can do as much as ‘B’ Btry. with the same amount of supervision. It is a pleasure to watch them, when the chips are down.

Thursday, 23 November [1944] Ramsbury
Happy Thanksgiving. We halted our activities long enough to partake in an enormous and well prepared meal. Turkey, Cranberries, Sweet potatoes, Irish Potatoes, Peas, Corn and Beets. We had Cocoa to drink and received Oranges and candy on our way out.

Friday, 24 November [1944] Ramsbury
The work is drawing to a finish. Everyone is still busy putting the finishing touches on an already splendid job but the heavy grind is over. We are ready.
