Up at 0600. The weather has cleared and spring is all decked out once more. Took a long and lonely patrol through the woods today. I like to scout out the woods near our bivouac area as soon as possible. Discovered nothing that was of a combative nature that was still capable of combat. Many wild flowers adorn the hill sides. I was going to pick some for my Diary but I carry non Fraternization to extremes. We got one half track in today. We are supposed to receive 3 more. They contain M 51 mounts and are more mobile than our separate mount types. The news is good and my optimism is high. I am getting the proper reactions from this spring weather, proper but unavailing. Our bombers have been passing overhead all day. I could watch them bomb one town from where I was perched on a hill, resting from the climb up. The civilians are very friendly or rather they try to be. We have to leave them all alone because it is impossible to separate the sheep from the wolves. Hit the sack at 2100.
