Same old story, nothing new. Routine day at camp, a little rain. We did go for a short hike (5 miles). I went to a show in Hungerford after supper. Saw the picture “Old Oklahoma”.1In Old Oklahoma was a 1943 American Western movie starring John Wayne and Martha Scott. Republic Pictures produced the  movie and Albert S. Rogell directed the film. “In Old Oklahoma.” Accessed April  26,  2014. American Film Institute Catalog of Featured Films (AFI) Was a very interesting picture but somehow couldn’t keep my mind on it.

Nothing of interest today, getting bored with Littlecote. The officers and myself are not getting along well at all. This place seems to be getting on everyones nerves.
I would ask for a transfer but it seems too much like running, under pressure.

As a result, prostitutes swarmed the area looking for G.I. clients. This busy square in London is also nicknamed the “Picadilly Circus.” “How Our Picadilly Commandos had the GIs Surrounded.” Accessed April 25, 2014. The Telegraph. Online. A few Buzz bombs hit fairly close but I escaped unscathed.

Such things as, fruits, candy, tobacco are almost unobtainable, meats are scarce. Flour is inferior in quality, whiskey is hard to get, even by the shot.
I have several, very good friends in Hungerford. One of them gave me the address of a friend in London. That is where I am staying over the weekend [continued on next page]
