Read several books, conversed with Mr. Webb, and Mr. McCartney, both retired. Had tea and later on dinner consisting of Pheasant and squash. The English do very well with the little they have. As long as I was a guest of the Three Swans, I could usually get a shot of Scotch now and then. When I could, I did.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Monday, 13 November [1944]   <em>&nbsp;<\/em>Littlecote<\/strong><br>Expect some of our men back soon. I hope so. We can\u2019t expect to go anywhere until the Battery is together again. Went to the movies tonight. Stopped at the Red Cross for coffee and donuts. Back to camp at 2200. Wrote a letter. Hit the sack.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tuesday, 14 November [1944]   Littlecote<\/strong><br>Nothing new. Uneventful day. Hit the sack early. Our food is better and so is our morale.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Wednesday, 15 November [1944]   Littlecote<\/strong><br>Still here. Everyone insists it can\u2019t be much longer.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Thursday, 16 November [1944]  <em> <\/em>Littlecote<\/strong><br>Worked today for a change. Stayed in the office all day, am certain that we will leave soon. Some of our men are due back tomorrow. We saw a lot of Fortresses today.
