For the first part of my process I looked at Thingiverse to find something I really wanted to print. I spent quite a while trying to find something I liked, and also would be able to print without many problems. I landed on a cute little sitting gnome.
Once I decided on this little guy, I wanted to make some changes. I first added a little ball to the top of his hat in Blender.
After I added the ball I also wanted to add a star detail, I ended up with two stars on the bottom of his feet as the final rendering.
