She was founder and president of the Goucher Women of Color Circle (GWOCC), and president of the Black Student Union during her enrollment. Faris was also instrumental in organizing peaceful protests on Goucher\u2019s campus. She also created the oral history project, <em>Black at Goucher<\/em>, which interviewed Black alumni about their life and experience at Goucher.
