Originally born in Montclair, New Jersey, she started at Goucher during the Fall of 2019. She came to Goucher as a member of the Track &amp; Field team from 2019-2020. Shayla was a member of a student-led club, GWOCC (Goucher\u2019s Women of Color Circle) from 2019-2024, holding positions as a co-chair for programming in 2021-2022, and co-president in 2022-2023.
