Minnie Waters Shorter ’73 has spent her career finding creative solutions to generate positive change in the private, government, and nonprofit sectors. After graduating from Goucher College with a bachelor’s degree in visual arts, Shorter furthered her studies with a master of business administration from the University of Baltimore. She is working toward a research doctorate in information administration and management from the University of Phoenix. Her work with the Social Security Administration was dynamic, including an employee timekeeping project that has been called one of the most innovative at the organization. Shorter has generously contributed to Goucher as a member of the Alumnae & Alumni of Goucher College Board, the Class of 1973 Reunion Committee, the Committee of Visitors, and the Alumnae/i Fund Committee. She is a dedicated donor and class fund agent. Her contributions go beyond her alma mater, with numerous volunteer positions, including her work as director of Coastal Concerts, a nonprofit that promotes classical music appreciation in the Delmarva Peninsula. Shorter appreciates the lovely pauses in life with Thomas M. Crowley, who shares her enjoyment for photography, fine dining and wine, and travel from their home base in Lewes, Delaware.
