After graduating from Goucher, Melaina became the Assistant Manager of the Goucher College bookstore after being a student employee there for 3 consecutive years. When she moved from Baltimore to Phoenixville, PA, she became an Office Assistant in the Office of Tutorial Programs and Multicultural Services at Ursinus College. This was the start of her 12 year run in higher education administration. She worked her way up to the Assistant Director of Publications Management at Loyola University Maryland where she began pursuing her Master of Arts in Emerging Media, utilizing Loyola’s tuition remission program. She was part of the program’s inaugural cohort in the University’s first online program. As this degree was an online program, she continued her studies after moving to Seattle, Washington in December 2016, and worked part-time in her final semester while working on her Capstone project. This part-time role allowed her to begin transitioning out of higher education administration into the field of Demand Generation Marketing after earning her M.A. in May 2018. Today, she works fully remotely in tech marketing as a Marketing Campaign Manager at Delinea, an innovative leader in identity security software.
