“COVID at Goucher” is an oral history project under the tutelage of Dr. Fletcher aiming to document how the pandemic affected our college community. We are seeking to explore and document the collective perspectives of those whose college experience was significantly shaped and impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic both academically and socially.
This oral history project focuses on the college experience at Goucher and the ways it was affected by the pandemic through interviewing staff, faculty members, administration, and students who were active in Goucher’s community between March 2020 and February 2022. It was decided that now is a good time to gather these accounts, as the memory is still fresh in many people’s minds, but enough time has passed to process the changes that have been made to our communities– both local and global. For these interviews, we have access to some current Goucher students, as well as alumni, staff, administrative members, and faculty.
Oral Histories were conducted by the following Goucher students:
Kevin Gearhart, class of 2026, is majoring in History.
Jeremy Gordon, class of 2025, is an American Studies major at Goucher College. I
Ella Green, class of 2026, is a history major with an education certification concentration.
Elizabeth Hazel (they/them), class of 2026, is a History Major with a Minor in Historic Preservation.
Emma Kistner, class of 2025, is a history History major, minoring in Literary Studies.
